Wedding Photography Q & A's
Q ~Can we meet before we book our wedding photography with you?
I am happy to meet with you for a consultation and discuss your wedding in more detail with absolutely no obligation to make a decision or book. If you aren't local to Lincolnshire, we can organise a phone consultation to discuss your needs and ask me any questions directly.
Q ~ Why did you choose to become a wedding photographer?
I was inspired by my very talented wedding photographers, husband and wife team, James & Merika green. I remember saying to Merika that I would love a career in photography and she encouraged me to buy my first camera. Her and James have become really good friends of mine and supported me throughout starting my business. I'm also a registered general nurse and am very passionate about Nursing however after 3 years I realised it was no longer making me happy so I took a leap of faith and here I am!
Q ~ What is your style of photography?
I like to think I represent a natural, documentary style of photography. I love to capture real, candid moments between loved ones that show true emotion to remember. As a wedding photographer I prefer to stick to a natural but also artistic style, capturing not only the couple but the surroundings and details around them. I like to laugh and get to know my customers, and enjoy being part of such a special day.
Q ~ Do you have business insurance?
Of course! I have full cover with Policy Bee including Public Liability Insurance, Professional Indemnity insurance and all of my camera equipment is comprehensively insured.
Q ~ Why should we have an Engagement Shoot?
An engagement shoot is a brilliant chance to get used to being photographed before the big day. Some couples are very shy in front of the camera and find that the engagement shoot acts as a 'practice' shoot before the wedding. It also provides a good opportunity to see how you look in professional pictures and give the photographer feedback on which angles/poses you prefer etc. It's also a great chance to meet and get to know each other of course!
Q ~ Why should we consider a Second-Shooter?
The problem with having a solo photographer at your wedding is the inability for me to be in two places at the same time! There's something really special about seeing the reaction of both people as they see their partners for the first time on their wedding day. A second photographer increases the amount of special moments we can photograph as the day unfolds.
Q ~ How many pictures will we receive?
My full-coverage package includes a minimum of 350 images from your wedding day. These images are provided both in colour and black & white. If, during the culling process, I find there are 500 images of good quality and content, these will all be included in your package.
Q ~ Are you able to provide videography as well as photography?
I don't provide videography but can recommend some fantastic local suppliers if you email me directly.
Q ~ How much is the deposit?
I require a £200 deposit to secure your wedding date. Once we have discussed prices and your needs, I am happy to hold your wedding date for a maximum of two weeks while you make your decision. The remaining balance will be split into instalments either automatically or on dates that suit you. Full payment can also be made upfront if preferable.
Q ~ When is the full balance of my wedding photography due?
The full balance of your wedding photography package is due 28 days before your wedding day.
Q ~ How long will I have to wait for my wedding photos?
Your photos will be delivered within 6 weeks, but often before this time depending on other work commitments.
Q ~ Can other people take photographs at my wedding?
This is your big day, so it is completely up to you! Couples often ask the officiant to announce to their guests (before the bride arrives) that they would like them to refrain from taking pictures during the ceremony. Exchanging your vows and having the first kiss are both special moments during your day, and I'm there to capture these moments in images while your guests watch you with no distractions! Nothing will be held against you if you decide this isn't necessary.
Q ~ Will I need to provide you with a list of group shots?
Every family is unique, so its best for me to have at least some basic knowledge of which formal group images of family and friends you would like me to take. I advise these are kept to around 10 or below to avoid a large portion of your time being taken up with these, and to allow you to spend your time enjoying yourself with your guests.
Q ~ Do we get to see all of the pictures taken?
I take a very large amount of photos on your wedding day, a lot of which are duplicates, not sharp enough in focus, and test shots for quality control. I cull or sort the photos by choosing good quality and content, sharp images, consistent with my style pf photography. You get to see all of the photos deemed good enough for your final gallery.
Q ~Do you photoshop/retouch the photos?
I provide minor retouching and photoshop adjustments as standard (i.e one of the couple has a skin blemish or acne scarring). I don't personally like to alter anyones appearance drastically so I don't offer this as a service. I am happy to discuss further retouching for your images with you directly.
Q ~ How do we book you for our wedding?
Please follow the link > here < to see details of the booking process and fill out a booking form if required.
Q ~ Who is your second-shooter?
At the moment I don't have a long-standing or regular second-shooter however I hope this will be the case in the future. All second-shooters working with me will be professional photographers, experienced in shooting weddings.
Q ~ Do you travel outside of Lincolnshire for weddings?
I am very open to discussing weddings all over the UK. If you never ask, you never know!
Q ~ Are you the photographer that will photograph my wedding?
Yes! I do not employ any photographers to work on my behalf. In the event of an emergency (i.e I break my leg or become seriously ill) I will send a professional photographer; with a similar style to mine, to work in my place before handing the images over to me for editing.
Q ~ Can I have my images in black & white too?
All of your wedding images will be provided in colour and black & white.
Q ~ Do you have full wedding galleries that I can view?
Absolutely. My move into wedding photography is still in its infancy, however I do have several full galleries available for viewing.
Q ~ Do you offer a payment plan?
Yes! I automatically separate the remaining balance of your package into instalments when writing your invoice. Dates and amounts can be altered to suit you and your partner.
Q ~ Do you provide unedited/RAW images?
I do not provide raw images under any circumstances. My images are edited in line with a style I have developed to represent me as a business. For this reason it would take a six-figure sum for me to release unedited/RAW images.
